Seattle Reign FC Goalkeeper Claudia Dickey Signs Multi-Year Contract Extension

The fourth-year goalkeeper remains in Seattle through the 2028 NWSL season

Seattle Reign FC today announced that goalkeeper Claudia Dickey has signed a multi-year contract extension that will keep her in Seattle through the 2028 NWSL season.

“We’re thrilled to extend Claudia’s contract and continue building with her as part of our core,” said Seattle Reign FC General Manager Lesle Gallimore. “She’s shown tremendous growth and commitment to the club, and her presence both on and off the pitch strengthens our culture and ambition. Claudia is an incredibly talented goalkeeper with significant upside – her athleticism, shot-stopping ability and command of the box continue to evolve, and we believe her best is still to come. Her work ethic and competitiveness are exactly what we value at the Reign.”

Dickey, 25, was selected 20th overall in the 2022 NWSL Draft and has become a reliable and steady presence in goal. The North Carolina native has made 39 appearances across all NWSL competitions, including 33 starts in regular-season play, recording 106 saves and nine clean sheets – ranking fourth and fifth in club history, respectively.

In 2025, Dickey has anchored a defense that has conceded the second-fewest goals in the NWSL. Through nine matches, she has already matched her single-season career high with three shutouts and stands as one of only three goalkeepers in the league with at least three clean sheets and a save percentage above 75%. According to Opta, Dickey leads the league in goals prevented with 5.1, nearly double the next closest goalkeeper, highlighting her exceptional shot-stopping ability and value between the posts.

“I’m incredibly excited to continue my journey with the Reign,” said Dickey. “My teammates and the coaching staff push me every day to be the best version of myself, and I’m looking forward to continuing to grow and compete at the highest level here in Seattle.”

Since making her regular-season debut on August 27, 2023, against Angel City FC, Dickey has solidified her place among the league’s top goalkeepers. Among NWSL goalkeepers with at least 30 appearances during that span, she ranks second in catches (36) and aerial duels won (15), third in goals-against average (1.09), and fourth in save percentage (74.5%).

On the international stage, Dickey was most recently named to the U.S. Women’s National Team roster for the upcoming FIFA window, following her first senior team call-up in January. She has previously represented the U.S. at the U-18, U-19, U-20, and U-23 levels.

Prior to entering the NWSL, Dickey was a standout dual-sport athlete at the University of North Carolina, excelling in both soccer and basketball. She concluded her collegiate soccer career with 81 appearances (55 starts) and 149 saves, earning her First Team All-ACC honors in 2020-21 after leading the nation with 15 shutouts that season.
